Dear Mister President,
On 1 January 2009, the Czech Republic assumed the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. On this occasion, I would like to extend an invitation to the traditional meeting of the chairpersons of the security and internal affairs committees of the parliaments of the member and associated states of the European Union, which is being organised by the Committee on Security of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic.
The meeting will take place in Prague on 22 and 23 February 2008 and will focus on “Integrated rescue system, legal and illegal migration in connection with environmental security”.
The official opening of the event will take place in the form of a dinner on Sunday, February 22. The working part of the meeting will start on Monday, February 23, and will be divided into two parts: the first part will focus on legal and illegal migration in connection with environmental security; the afternoon programme will focus on the integrated rescue system.
The preliminary programme of the meeting is enclosed with this invitation.
The registration form, hotel reservation form, and further information are available on the Parliament’s website for the Czech Presidency: www.parliament.cz. The deadline for submitting the hotel reservation and registration form is 23 January 2009.
